Kit Guitar Faq

A few people have inquired about the LP3 Model. Yes, there is a few changes to this particular offering that we made in the past. This most noticeable change is the headstock, it is now a paddle top which means you would have to cut out your own headstock design. This can be easily done with a small band or hand saw or the like - take your time and be creative with it. Also, the headstock does not have a binding because it is a paddle top. In John Gleneicki's Book - Paint Your Own Guitar - he has a great chapter on how to make your own binding and logo for the top of your guitar.

The LP3 Guitar is also a set neck, we wouldn't make a classic without one. Make sure you also read John's Book and check out his videos on painting a guitar with a set neck for some helpful tips.

We also had a number of people that contacted us regarding shipping concerns. Kit Guitars do not come with cases, we will admit and apologize for those who ever received a guitar from a shipping carrier who treated the guitar box like it had wings. With the guitars shipping in May we spent the extra money to have styro-foam molds made of each guitar so they will be packed solid, not floating or crushed inside the box. We want you to get your guitar in perfect condition, we've made the extra effort to achieve this. You can check out some sample guitar molds here - http://www.spgguitars.com/styrofoam_packing.html
